This workshop series provides a detailed examination of the historical, economic, and political forces that have shaped Puerto Rico. The curriculum starts with Taino history and addresses social issues including racism, colorism, and the fight for women's suffrage. Content includes technical analysis of economic policies such as the Jones Act and the Fiscal Control Board, alongside contemporary challenges like Act 60 and gentrification. By studying the independence movement and key figures, participants gain a clear understanding of the island's governance and the data driving its social landscape.
